New Visa Application in Kathmandu, Nepal


The Embassy of France, Kathmandu is pleased to introduce a new facility to meet the ever-increasing demand for French Visa among Nepalese. It is our constant effort to provide greater comfort and convenience to our visa applicants.

From 23 May, 2014 applicants residing in Nepal wishing to apply for the French visa will be required to submit their applications at the France Visa Application Centre at Academy of Culinary Arts Building,

Ground Floor, Mahalaxmisthan Marga, Lagankhel, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Nepal., Monday to Friday except holidays.

SCHENGEN visa has to be obtained from the Consulate of the country where the MAIN PURPOSE OF TRAVEL lies. With effect from 12 December 2008, Switzerland has also joined the Schengen treaty making it a total of 25.

Note: In case of travel to multiple Schengen countries, please make your application to the Embassy where you will be staying for the maximum number of days.

Remarks: The order of appearance is at random. This list does not claim to be complete. You can choose one of the mentioned companies or the insurance can be arranged through France as well. The whole duration of stay in the Schengen area must be covered by the health insurance.

Declaration

The Declaration needs to be submitted in original and has to be signed by the applicant

All applications can be submitted without prior appointment at the France Visa Application Center at Academy of Culinary Arts Building,Ground Floor, Mahalaxmisthan Marga, Lagankhel, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Nepal.Monday to Friday except holidays.

All applications for DOM which include Guadeloupe(St Marteen), Martinique, Guyana and Reunion and TOM which includes Wallis and Futana, Saint Pierre & Miquelon, French Polynesia, Nouvelle Caledonia and Mayotte will submit their application with prior appointment at the France Visa Application Centre at Academy of Culinary Arts Building,Ground Floor, Mahalaxmisthan Marga, Lagankhel, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Nepal.Monday to Friday except holidays.

“All applications for the African Countries which include Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Mauritania, Togo, Gabon & Centrafrique will submit their application directly at the French Embassy, New Delhi between 0930 Hrs to 1030 Hrs daily. For some specific cases, the visa applications could be directly submitted at the French Embassy, New Delhi with prior appointment.

"Visa applications can't be processed and accepted from people (including Nepalese nationals) visiting Nepal and wishing to go to France from Nepal - even on their way back to their country of residence-. Should they want to visit France while visiting India, they need to request their Schengen visa before departing their country of residence. If there is an emergency reason for going to France while in Nepal, the applicant has to get in touch with VFS and explain the case"

W.E.F. 01/11/2006 all applicants except first time traveler (traveling first time to a Schengen country) while applying for a French visa will be required to fill Visa Insurance Undertaking form in addition to the visa application form.

  1. Important-Passport which is more than ten years old as on date of visa application will not be accepted for visa processing. Passport should be valid for at least three (3) months longer than intended stay. Also applicants should attach expired passports with their valid passport.
