Students going for short courses, long courses, exchange programs, language courses, internship etc. can apply for a student visa. Before submitting your application for a student visa at the French Consulate you must complete the following 2 steps:
Step 1: To create an online CampusFrance registration file on www.india.campusfrance.org You may contact the closest CampusFrance office for assistance. You may schedule an appointment through the online file or by calling or by mailing the CampusFrance office.
Step 2: To obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) through the interview taken by an Education Attache. Students residing in Mumbai can contact the Education Attache directly at the Consulate. Students residing out of Mumbai can ask for an appointment with an officer of Alliance Francaise nearest to your home (see list given below).
Mandatory Documents required for NOC interview:
- A valid passport for the entire period of your stay in France (passports issued more than ten years ago are no longer accepted for visa processing)* + copy of first 2 pages
- Two recent photographs in the size of 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms with white / light background.
- A letter of registration / admission from a French Academic Institution
- Proof of resources for tuition fees and living expenses for the period of your stay (500 euros/month) OR An accommodation certificate from a respondent in France and proof of resources for living expenses for the period of your stay (250 euros/month)
- Proof of accommodation in France for the period of stay
- A short bio-data
- Copies of your degrees, diplomas and/or certificates
- Overseas medical insurance policy + repatriation, evacuation cover (equivalent to 30000 euros) for 3 months
- Copy of air ticket
- CampusFrance registration fee in the form of a demand draft of Rs. 6500/- in favour of ‘CEDUST’ payable at New Delhi.
Important!
- The documents are required in 1 sets of photocopy and originals for verification.
- All photocopies must be in black and white and on A4 size paper.
- You may be asked to show your original documents at the time of your interview. Therefore please carry your original documents with you.
- Short Stay or Long Stay visa application form can be filled depending on the length of your study course.
- Dependants must apply along with the principal applicant. Copies of Marriage Certificate / Birth Certificate may be attached to the application. Processing time may take one or two weeks depending upon the application. Therefore please check the same with the visa officer while submitting your application.
