For Dependants Married to French nationals
You can apply for a short stay or a long stay visa depending upon the purpose of travel. You first have to register your marriage with the Consulate General of France to get French marriage certificate. Upon registration you will be given livret de famille. You can then take an appointment to submit your application to the French Consulate. No visa fee is payable as you are married to a French citizen.

Mandatory Documents:
- Original passport valid for entire duration of stay in France.
- One application form with all columns filled in and 2 recent photographs in the size of 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms with white / light background.
- Covering letter in original is advisable .
- Upon registration you will be given a “livret de famille”.
- Copy of French Marriage Certificate.
- Copy of French citizen's passport.
Important!
- The departure date must be mentioned on the visa application form.
- All photocopies must be in A4 size paper.
- You may be asked to show your original documents at the time of your interview. Therefore please carry your original documents with you.
