Scientists going for research for more than 90 days can apply for a long stay visa.

Mandatory Documents:
- 1. Original passport valid for entire duration of stay in France (passports issued more than ten years ago are no longer accepted)*
- One long stay visa application form with all columns filled in and 2 recent photograhs in the size of 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms with white / light background.*
- Covering letter in original is advisable
- Protocol d'accueil in original
- Copy of air ticket or PNR (booking printout)
The documents must be arranged in the order given above.
*Scientists going for less than 90 days can apply for a short stay visa. The visa fee applicable would be 60 euros. Kindly fill in a short stay visa application form along with documents listed above. In addition copy of overseas medical insurance policy + repatriation, evacuation cover (equivalent to 30000 euros) must also be submitted.
Important!
- The departure date must be mentioned on the visa application form.
- All photocopies must be in A4 size paper.
- No visa fee is payable by scientists invited by CERN and other specified organisations.
- Dependants must apply along with the principal applicant. Procedure and documents remain the same. Copies of Marriage Certificate / Birth Certificate may be attached to the application.
